Staying Connected, But Not Too Connected

If you work during your pregnancy and you are going back to the same job after your maternity leave, then one of the goals of your maternity leave with respect to work is to stay connected but not too connected in the face of what is likely to be extreme fatigue. Under no circumstances should you provide any clinical care during your maternity leave. You are just too tired to be a good doctor. Your colleagues are skilled clinicians who can take good care of your patients. They cannot, however, breastfeed and sleep for you.
