We designed this website for the rapidly increasing numbers of women in medicine at all levels. It is also for the partners of female physicians, male physicians who have young children, male and female faculty members, department chairs, university deans and administrators, national professional organizations, and the more than 8000 women who will start medical school next year in the US. We hope that Mama MD is an informative and inspiring resource for you, the rapidly growing numbers of women at all stages of your medical training as well as for those supporting you personally and/or professionally. This is the information that we wish had existed when we embarked on our careers in medicine and our lives as parents.
